This course is taught by award-winning textile artist Eranga Bandaranayake and provides an introduction to hand embroidery and embellishments, exploring creative techniques that provide endless applications in industries such as couture sewing, bridal, costume and millinery. The course encourages deriving inspiration from nature, exploring and converting the studies into textile medium using decorative techniques in order to enhance the aesthetics and appearance of fashion and textile products. The students will apply the knowledge and skill to create a fashion accessory based on their own design.
It suits students, fashion designers and individuals who are interested in embellishment to increase their skills, create a portfolio piece or just enjoy creating beautiful unique garments.
